About Your Instructors
Nikit & Lena
Nikit & Lena are Kizomba and Urban Kiz instructors based in Vancouver and Calagary, CA respectively.
Have you ever come into the Kizomba room late at night, seen everyone standing around hugging like statues, and wondered what was going on?
Join Nikit & Lena in an exploration of the Urban Kiz sub genre "Douceur" starting from the connection, the isolations and movement options, all the way to how to keep yourself safe on the dancefloor and enjoy the music. Douceur originated in Paris and translates to sweetness or softness, which is the energy we use to connect with our partner in this dance oftentimes using micromovements. Mirroring what Tarraxinha is to Kizomba, Douceur uses tarraxinha movements and more for your late night connections. You may sometimes hear it described as tarraxo soft, and you'll often see it danced late night after 2am and onwards. Think connection, technique and bliss! Let's go.
